Submit list of ongoing real estate projects UDHD

The State Urban Development and Housing Department (UDHD) has directed all Urban Local Bodies (ULB) to submit a list of ongoing real estate projects in their areas to Bihar Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA).

In a letter, Chaitanya Prasad, UDHD Principal Secretary, instructed all municipal authorities not hand over occupancy certificates to builders not registered under the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) Act, 2016.

Prasad said, “The ULB’s will provide the list of projects of the last five years in which the land proposed to be developed exceeds 500 square meters or the number of apartments is more than eight. They have been asked to provide the information including the builder and promoter address, contact number, date of approval and the plan sanctioned by the competent authority”.

The State Urban Development and Housing Department (UDHD) directed all Urban Local Bodies (ULB) to provide the list of all ongoing projects in their areas to Bihar RERA. RERA Bihar has also uploaded the list of unregistered builders and promoters who have been given show-cause notice for advertising their real estate projects without registering with RERA.

Rajiva Bhushan, RERA Bihar member said, “The uploaded list would help the buyers to know about the projects. We will remove the names if the builders and promoters mend their ways and reply to the show-cause notice”.

Afzal Amanullah, Bihar RERA Chairman, said that all promoters and builders are required to register with RERA by 31st August. Buyers have also been advised to not purchase any plot, apartment or flat from any developer not registered with the authority.

He added that the list of ongoing projects will help authorities to recognize and determine how many residential and commercial projects are under construction. Additionally, it will also highlight which projects are delayed or are incomplete, causing inconvenience to buyers who have invested money in it.
