UPRERA Set To Ease The Availing Of Its Facilities

UPRERA will soon introduce a single window system through which home buyers, builders and developers can avail its offerings and services

After recently proposing a stress fund to complete pending residential real estate projects, UPRERA (Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority) has come up with a new brainchild. Mid-September onwards, several of its facilities will be able to be availed by home buyers, builders and developers via a single window system.

The housing regulatory body will help citizens and developers to get maps approved, lodge complaints and secure progress reports and no-objection certificates for projects.

This news was confirmed by UPRERA’s Chairman Rajive Kumar. “We are working on a software for the facility. All information about the facility will be made available online,” Kumar said.

He added that there will also be an ease in the process of complaint filing. Homebuyers who are duped by developers or are still waiting for the possession of their homes will be able to file complaints easily. They will also be given help in all the information they wish to know about promoters.

UPRERA has been working tirelessly to ease the lives of hassled home buyers. It had recently identified approximately 100 ghost residential real estate projects. Builders have stalled work on these projects hence causing a lot of suffering to home buyers. It even requested the Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development authorities to bring to light more such projects. Officials at UPRERA believe that home buyers have paid a heavy price as the deadline to approve maps of those residential projects has expired.

UPRERA even warned banks and developers for diversion of funds. This was done as the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs questioned its workings. It will soon start a detailed scrutiny of escrow accounts of the developers so that funds of these accounts are not misused by them for their personal gains and projects get completed on time.
