Spread over 530 acres, airport city awaits clearance

The city complex is part of the airport’s Phase 2 expansion project and is awaiting regulatory approvals, according to BIAL managing director and CEO Hari Marar.

The proposed airport city at Kempegowda International Airport will house three business parks spread across 40 acres, according to Bangalore International Airport Limited, the operator of KIA.

Spread over 530 acres, it will have an outlet mall, 25-acre retail dining entertainment village, live entertainment centre, luxury/business hotels, serviced apartments and 10-acre multi-level car parking facilities. All will be located near terminal 1.

BIAL said plans for the city although afoot are still at a nascent stage.
