Salil Bhandari has resigned from the independent director post of HSIL

The company had recently approved appointments of Anil Wadhwa, Himalyani Gupta and Rakesh Sarin as independent directors on the board of directors with effect from March 18, 2020.

Salil Bhandari has resgined from the independent director post of Hindustan Sanitaryware & Industries (HSIL), a sanitaryware and faucet manufacturer, the company said in a BSE filing.

The moves comes after the demerger of Somany Home Innovation from HSIL. “..subsequent upon the scheme of demerger and my appointment as an Independent Director on the Board of Directors of Somany Home Innovation, I hereby resign from the office with immediate effect,” said Bhandari in his resignation letter.

The company had recently approved appointments of Anil Wadhwa, Himalyani Gupta and Rakesh Sarin as independent directors on the board of directors with effect from March 18, 2020.

Anil Wadhwa is an ex-member of the Indian Foreign Services. He has also served as chairman of the Board of World Food Programme (WFP) and a Permanent Representative of India to Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). 

While Himalyani Gupta is an advocate with over 30 years of experience, Rakesh Sarin has over 43 years of experience in the field of distributed energy, policy advocacy and development of large renewable energy platform.

In February 2020, Somany Impressa had acquired 1.99 per cent shares in HSIL, according to its regulatory filing.
